Explore the Atlantis legend from its origins in the prehistoric world and its transmission through time.

Neith the mother deity of Libya and the ancient world and her followers retained the memory of their homeland named Atlantis and her sacred scribes recorded these in writing and retained the Atlantis legend in the library archives of her temple in Sais Egypt.

It was these writings that Solon one of the seven sages of Greece and lawgiver of Ancient Athens 594 B.C. was shown by the sacred priest Sonchis on his visit to Egypt circa 590 B.C.

Solon recorded Atlantis in poem form and this was then handed down through his close family before Plato a future family relative of Solon via Dropides discovered the poem and reanimated Atlantis in his book Timaeus and Critias from circa 361-348 B.C.

It was K.T. Frost who associated the Atlantis so richly reanimated by Plato with the new Minoan world discovered on Crete by Arthur Evans and many fellow archaeologists on varied temple sites such as Knossos, Phaistos, Malia and in his article titled ‘The Lost Continent.’   published in the times on Feb 19th 1909 K. T Frost detailed the connections between Atlantis and the Minoan World of Crete.

He later produced a paper in 1913 printed in full in the Journal of Hellenic Studies

titled ”The Critias and Minoan Crete.”
